<Armbian-Discord> <srepac> Anybody using the lafrite board at all? I’ve tried the armbian image to usb drive and it won’t boot at all. The sbc just keeps rebooting
<Armbian-Discord> <srepac> Also the spi firmware won’t load with the latest.bin (from 2021). Only works with the 2020 version
<Armbian-Discord> <srepac> This board is such a pita to work with
<Armbian-Discord> <c0rnelius> I could never think of a reason to get one, so I didn't.
<Armbian-Discord> <srepac> someone gave it to me to try and get pikvm working on it. if I can't even get an os running on the damn board....
<Armbian-Discord> <srepac> glad I didn't pay for it
<Armbian-Discord> <rpardini> @srepac I've had very different reports about LaFrite. I had confirmation of it working with both the regular lafrite build and the uefi-arm64 build (via updated UEFI firmware). Maybe you wanna try https://github.com/rpardini/armbian-release/releases/download/20221009b/Armbian_20221009b-rpardini_Lafrite_jammy_edge_5.19.14.img.xz ? (it's on an -rcX build of uboot, and unofficial). Let me know
<Armbian-Discord> <rpardini> (or maybe I'm confusing with LePotato @Tonymac32 ? )
<Armbian-Discord> <Tonymac32> I've never had an issue starting an OS on it, however: is it the 512 or the 1 GB one
<Armbian-Discord> <Tonymac32> Mine is a 1 GB. If the CMA memory pool is too large that will keep it from booting. As far as the SPI flash goes I have no idea what's wrong there I've never had issues with that part
<Armbian-Discord> <srepac> I have the 512MB one
<Armbian-Discord> <srepac> This is a pos board
<Armbian-Discord> <c0rnelius> even looks just like one.
<Armbian-Discord> <Tonymac32> Ok, so Armbian on several occasions broke these boards. As I don't have one I can't say if the images even work. I have a 1GB one and it works fine.
<Armbian-Discord> <Tonymac32> The 512 is too small IMHO, but is very attractive to 'buy on cost' people.
<Armbian-Discord> <srepac> I would never buy this just because it doesn’t come with a micro sd card connector
<Armbian-Discord> <srepac> If I have to take extra effort to burn os, it’s a deal breaker
