<SiFuh__> ukky: Did you get mdadm to work with musl?
lavaball has joined #crux-social
<ukky> SiFuh: mdadm --query /dev/sdb <=== prints: /dev/sdb: is not an md array
<SiFuh__> ukky: I am still working on getting mdadm to compile with musl
<ukky> Oh, it compiles on my side, but I applied patches from alpine or void
<SiFuh__> none worked on my side
<SiFuh__> Even I had to redo all the patches
<ukky> I will send you my files
<SiFuh_> Ooooh, mdadm succeeded
<SiFuh_> I rewrote the alpine patches by hand, used some void patches and the LFS patches
<SiFuh_> ukky: How about reiserfsprogs?
<ukky> let me check reiserfsprogs
<SiFuh__> ukky: Does anyone even use reiserfs anymore? emmett1 was saying it was obsolete now.
<SiFuh__> Probably because Reiser he went to prison for murder
<ukky> reiserfsprogs compiles, but on ISO it fails to load libobstack.so.1. Once shared lib is copied to ISO environment, reiserfsprogs works
<SiFuh__> Ohh you may need musl-obstack then from void
<ukky> I do not use reiserfs
<ukky> I have musl-obstack, but for some reason I did not install it on the ISO
<SiFuh__> Let me try to compile it again and see how it handles
<SiFuh__> Nope
<SiFuh__> Okay, I figured out what I did wrong
<ukky> added musl-obstack to ISO, now reiserfs finds libobstack.so
<SiFuh__> Cool, I already did once I got reiserfsprogs working
<SiFuh__> Here we go again. Start bootstrap from 0 again
<ukky> How long does it take to compile stage 0 (make bootstrap) on your system, with all pkg-files deleted?
<SiFuh__> Few hours
<SiFuh__> Actually I modifed the Makefile so I can do make bootstrap, make boostrap0, make bootstrap1 make bootstrap2
<SiFuh__> Stages 1 and 2 will take the longest since Stage 0 is mostly done
<ukky> Stage 0 and 1 take about one hour each on my side, but I only compile what is in core plus what is on ISO
<SiFuh__> ukky: One core only here;-)
<ukky> one core, that must be painful
<SiFuh__> Nope, because I can go and do other things and never need to thinking about it

<SiFuh__> ukky: Did you compile clang at all by any chance?
<ukky> no
<SiFuh__> Cheers thanks. Was asking on behalf of emmett1 by the way
<ukky> my goal was to have minimal bootable ISO.
<SiFuh__> Mine too but emmett1 wants to go the full monty.
<ukky> Only 153 ports on the ISO: http://0x0.st/XXIb.txt
<SiFuh__> Cool, I think I have much less
<SiFuh__> ukky: 146. So not _much_ less
SiFuh__ is now known as SiFuh
<ukky> no sense in making it any smaller at this point
<SiFuh> I can but it would mean removing cryptography for disk encryption
<SiFuh> Which to me is a big no no.
<SiFuh> Weird name gimple-fold.cc
