<cr1901> ej5: So, hypothetically, the input analog voltage from the microphone could be, say, 127/256 or whatever, and the SAR function reads the high order bit as 0. 1/2
<cr1901> And then the analog voltage becomes 128/256 for the remaining 7 bits

<ej5> yes, typically the voltage changes slowly because there is an input RC filter acting as a crude sample and hold
<ej5> i think this is why recordings on an SB sound so awful
