Hello! I attempted to kirkstone by using the autobuilder sstate-mirror and hash equivalence server - however every time I've tried this recently I get a "unable to connect hash equivalence server at 'typhoon.yocto.io:8687': timeout('timed out')" warning. Is this not working at the moment, or have I likely done something wrong?

I built using the autobuilder mirror, but set BB_SIGNATURE_HANDLER to OEBasicHash, and BB_HASHSERVE to "", this got 577 hits (20%)... I assumed the sstate_mirror would need to be built for a particular signature type - so was surprised to get any hits given the default is OEEquivHash. Are given sstate packages specific to a particular signature,

It's possible to build with OEEquivHash, with BB_HASHSERVE set to "auto", with an sstate mirror, but without an BB_HASHSERVE_UPSTREAM - that gives a warning but still gives 577 hits. The warning is a bit misleading though, it says " You may wish to disable the hash equivalence use (BB_HASHSERVE)" - however that's not possible when OEEquivHash is

I have a question about the hashserv.db - I assume this is the database that the hash server uses..... for a user that has multiple yocto builds on their machine, they may have a machine wide DL_DIR and SSTATE_DIR - however I think the hashserv.db is located in the build directory - is there a local.conf variable that can allow you to control where

this should live? Otherwise you may not benefit from hashes discovered in other builds on your machine.

It looks like PERSISTENT_DIR may do the trick. What does hashserv.yocto.io do? start up a specific instance and the auto.conf's all point to it?
