Ok so, PP066 should be coming Weds so I can characterize it then
<azonenberg>
AKL-AD3 amplifier board is out for delivery
<azonenberg>
Also if anyone is interested in a very nice headless scope to use with glscopeclient
<azonenberg>
I just got an email from my LeCroy sales rep
<azonenberg>
They have five WaveRunner 8404M-R on clearance for $10,750 each. 4 GHz, 20/40 Gsps, 4 channels, 64/128M points memory, no MSO option
<azonenberg>
in 2U rackmount form factor
<azonenberg>
runs full MAUI on Windows, just no touchscreen/button front panel so you can access it via glscopeclient, RDP, or just plugging in a keyboard/mouse/monitor
<azonenberg>
i hate having to pass on that kind of deal but with a new baby plus the other stuff on my lab wishlist i just can't
<monochroma>
oh nice, i didn't know they actually had a headless line
<monochroma>
i have thought about doing that to my DDA5005 :P
<azonenberg>
A year ago if that scope had become available at that price i would have bought it
<azonenberg>
but now i have an 8404M-MS which is the full UI version that also has the MSO option (I think you can retrofit MSO to the -R's, at least the normal ones you can)
<azonenberg>
The only way this might sorta make sense is if I were to buy the -R, add the MSO option, and trade in the normal 8404M-MS for more than i paid for it
<azonenberg>
in which case it would be a great space savings
<azonenberg>
cutting like 8U down to 2U
<monochroma>
hehehe

i'm guessing if you really wanted to, there is probably a DVI/VGA port on the back and USB ports to add an external display (and do network configuration if it's not set for DHCP)
<azonenberg>
There are
<azonenberg>
It's just a normal 8000 series scope sans front panel basically
<azonenberg>
with a bog-standard atx mobo panel on the rear
<azonenberg>
Typically in real industrial deployments you'd probably have a bunch of these hanging off a KVM to configure them
<azonenberg>
then have some labview scripts or some other awfulness running your testing
