<TimMc> ocdtrekkie: Interesting. It looks like the package metadata is there, with https://ftp.debian.org/debian/dists/stretch/main/binary-amd64/Packages.gz containing libstdc++-6-dev with Filename: pool/main/g/gcc-6/libstdc++-6-dev_6.3.0-18+deb9u1_amd64.deb -- and http://deb.debian.org/debian/pool/main/g/gcc-6/libstdc++-6-dev_6.3.0-18+deb9u1_amd64.deb is there.
<TimMc> I wonder if there's a way to tell apt to show the exact URLs it's trying to fetch?
<TimMc> I also notice that it's redirecting to an ftp URL but I don't know if that's relevant.

<ocdtrekkie> I would imagine that if anything, an older distro would be more likely to be happy with FTP, considering.
<ocdtrekkie> Oh shoot
<ocdtrekkie> ...You know what would really help me?
<TimMc> an internet connection?
<TimMc> :-P
<ocdtrekkie> ...If I read the actual repo I was using, to see if it did something weird.
<TimMc> "switch to debian testing" uh-oh
<ocdtrekkie> It's entirely possible this will work if I delete that chunk, it seems reasonable that Debian doesn't maintain a "testing" branch for Stretch anymore.
<TimMc> It's not so much a branch as an alias.
<TimMc> or rather, at that time, I bet testing == buster
<ocdtrekkie> That's what the commit message seems to suggest, but the Vagrantfile still says Stretch, but he also has commits in here about using Docker.
<ocdtrekkie> So I'm now not confident this was packaged with vagrant-spk for it's last release. :|
<TimMc> (OK, I guess they actually are branches, but the labels get promoted on each release and oldstable gets a permanent name.)
<ocdtrekkie> I wonder why there is no Buster files if he had updated the sources to use Buster before the release. Maybe it's a branch that was merged in after?
