Daft question because I'm maybe not understanding the docs correctly ? Is there a riverctl command that will take the focussed window on one output and move it to the currently focussed output on another output ?
<JustineSmithies>
So say I have a foot terminal on output e-DP1 on tag 1 and wish to use a keybinding that will move it to output HDMI-A-1 which happens to have tag 4 focussed. Is that possible ?
<JustineSmithies>
Or can I only move to the same tag on another output ?
<JustineSmithies>
OMG I do hope someone can make sense of what I've just said ;)
<sacodya>
like, on the fly?
<JustineSmithies>
Yeah so i have a terminal on output 1 tag 1 but want a keybinding that will move it to output 2 but on outputs 2 currently focussed tag
<JustineSmithies>
Would send-to-output -current-tags be what I'm after ?
<sacodya>
Don't know either, I'm pretty new to river and wayland in general. You could have a footclient spawning in HDMI-A-1 always tho
<JustineSmithies>
Thanks anyway, I know I could spawn one there just wondered if there was a way on the fly as you say to move a window on one output to the focussed on another

JustineSmithies: yes I think -current-tags is what you want, I don't have multiple so I'm not 100% sure
<novakane>
but AFAIK send-to-output assign the same tag to the view than the current output and with -current-tags it assigns the focused tags of the output where you send it
<JustineSmithies>
novakane: Thanks I'll go give that a shot.

That did the trick thank you both x

leon-p: I should thank you too for implementing the -current-tags option too.
<JustineSmithies>
It's pinpoxIRC I should thank for that x

JustineSmithies: I'm happy merging #875 once my review comments have been addressed, with all the infrastructure we have now it won't me a major maintenence burden :)

ifreund: Cool and thanks for answering too. If they don't ever address your comments how would one go about taking this on without stepping on others toes ? Maybe it's just not correct to do such a thing? I'm still learning but very willing.

JustineSmithies: generally I'd give the author of the PR a couple weeks to respond and then grab their branch and open a new PR adding your own commits on top and preserving the authorship of their original commits
