<whereswaldon> Hey all, I'm experiencing a crazy behavior with XWayland. It seems like XWayland apps will receive input from tags that they aren't in.
<whereswaldon> For instance, I have Slack and Signal Desktop open in tags 3 and 4. Trying to interact with slack on tag 4 sends my click events to signal on Tag 3.
<whereswaldon> Has anyone seen anything like this? I'm using the Arch Linux AUR package for river (version 0.1.2-1)
<leon-p> whereswaldon: can you build river from the master branch on git and check if the issue is still there?
<whereswaldon> leon-p: sure. Would using the AUR's river-git package be acceptable?
<leon-p> no idea, I don't know what that package contains
<whereswaldon> Okay, I won't do it that way then
<leon-p> well, you can still try, there isn't anything that really can go wrong...
<leon-p> but the AUR packages are not official in any way, so I really can't tell you if the -git package actually builds from master branch
<novakane> you can try and see if `river -version` return `0.2.0-dev-be870e058d79`
<whereswaldon> Okay running from the AUR on 0.2.0-dev-be870e0
<whereswaldon> It hasn't happened immediately, but I don't think it usually does. I'll wait to see if I can get it to recur
<whereswaldon> Thanks for your quick responses folks!
<novakane> iirc there was a fix about something like this recently
<novakane> about input in x11
<leon-p> yep, that's why I recommended trying master

<whereswaldon> Cool, well I have yet to see the problem recur, so that might have been it!

<ifreund> whereswaldon: yeah, that crazy behavior is what one should expect using river 0.1.1 or 0.1.2, fixed on master branch and I plan to release 0.1.3 soon
<ifreund> hopefully this weekend
<ifreund> wlroots 0.15 changed something with regards to xwayland that I missed as never really have more than one xwayland program open at a time personally

<ifreund> gotta merge leon-p's input config PR and try to fix the one open bug about moving clients that don't ack configures, then it's time to tag 0.1.3
