the other one is a race condition, I though sway had worked around that by special-casing its swaybg client but I guess not

as for fixing the race condition, I'm reconsidering making the default background black and setting the color to solarized dark in the example init script

probably do the same with the borders

make them something really ugly like #00ff00 for focused and #ff0000 otherwise

(but set to nice solarized dark colors in the example init

only thing though is that then river will do nothing but display a black screen if the user has messed up their installtion, which isn't great

idk but black background one would help to reduce or fix the issue but having assets/wallpaper and set later wouldn't hurt.

It wouldn't really fix the issue, it would be a hack to workaround the issue

well, my entire workflow that wrap river/sway already too hacky with bash scripts. so a workaround would be appriciated.
