cfbolz changed the topic of #pypy to: #pypy PyPy, the flexible snake https://pypy.org | IRC logs: https://quodlibet.duckdns.org/irc/pypy/latest.log.html#irc-end and https://libera.irclog.whitequark.org/pypy | Matti: I made a bit of progress, the tests now only segfault towards the end

<mattip> I see that we have a buildmaster-backup on the benchmarker machine
<mattip> I wonder if there is a way to make that the main buildbot master

<ronan> Do we have a way to create an RPython buffer that stays in virtual memory until actually written to? (re https://foss.heptapod.net/pypy/pypy/-/issues/3763 )

<arigato> ronan: unsure what you're saying in this issue. in both cpython and pypy it should be a big malloc(). Maybe pypy does write zeroes manually?
<ronan> yes, I think it does
<arigato> and for what you're asking precisely, yes, use the mmap/rmmap module
<arigato> mattip: yes, on that machine indeed "df" says /home is full
<arigato> mattip: if you want to move the buildbot master to the benchmarker machine, yes, sure, go ahead. I think you need fijal to switch the DNS
<arigato> for the 20G deletion that doesn't free anything: maybe it's because the disk was filled to 100% by a root process, then even if it goes down a bit a non-root process still isn't allowed to write more until it goes down below some threshold
<arigato> but yes, if you want to migrate everything, sure. Feel free to transfer the 500GB of buildmaster---as far as I know the internet usage limit for this machine is crazy, nothing as "small" as 500GB
<arigato> OTOH I'm finding old stuff to remove on that machine, still deleting now
<arigato> 240G free now
<cfbolz> arigato: is there anything we can do to get the buildbot back up in the meantime, until mattip has time to move it things?
<arigato> cfbolz: matti can just restart it now
<arigato> (or I could but I'm not sure how)
<arigato> (I mean, I can dig it again if you need me to, it's just that the info is a bit far from me at the moment)
<cfbolz> ok, fair enough :-)
