<rue_mohr>
so I got a hard drive controller to answer, needed to keep the reset asserted tho
<rue_mohr>
I can use that to single step it right?
<PaulFertser>
rue_mohr: to single step you'd actually need to halt the target and for that the reset would need to be deasserted. Normally OpenOCD configures a vector catch with reset asserted and then it's stopped at reset vector. Probably you can set a breakpoint in that state.
<rue_mohr>
hmm
<rue_mohr>
it'll be a statically clocked processor
<rue_mohr>
I wonder if it would dial down to a few hz
