<exkc> hi
<f_> hi
<exkc> it seem mainline uboot can boot on s805
<f_> no it's not supported.
<exkc> no
<exkc> maybe i was wrong sry
<f_> look at the tree..S805 cannot boot mainline u-boot yet
<exkc> alr yeah
<f_> If you want though you can port it :)
<exkc> i have some amlogic commit of their boot i think
<exkc> *uboot
<f_> ?
<f_> S805 u-boot is on gh
<exkc> u know amlogic use git to manager their uboot fork
<f_> yes, forks of their s805 tree is on gh
<exkc> i found a fork of their s805 uboot
<f_> I have it in my HDD
<exkc> alr
<f_> or did I remove it to save space?
<exkc> is the hdmi of s805 wip?
<f_> Besides I have no S805 board :p
<exkc> i have few
<exkc> i ever have mxboard
<f_> exkc: linux-meson.com should have latest status
<exkc> yep
<exkc> i saw armbian use patch to get hdmi work on s805

<exkc> f: what do u think on what can we do on mx with mainline?Only uart is working
<f_> s/f/f_/ please.
<exkc> sry
<f_> and as said before I don't own anything older than S905 so..
<f_> Though AFAIK xdarklight is working on supporting them.
<exkc> yep i am thinking what can i do when the only thing is working is uart
<f_> exkc: highly doubt that though
<exkc> last time i checked the only thing is working on mx is uart
<f_> IIRC more things were working..but in a close to mainline fork
<f_> but as said before..S905 is the oldest Amlogic SoC I have :)
<exkc> is it one for mx
<f_> I think
<f_> \o/
<f_> ^ xdarklight
<exkc> Ah btw i wish usb work on mx
<exkc> my mx based device use ram nand i think raw nand need mtd to work and pm os dont support it
<exkc> There was some word to get pm os but ... (see chip's pm os mr)
<exkc> *work
<exkc> *get pm os to work on raw nand

<xdarklight> exkc: on Linux HDMI pipeline is work in progress for S805 (meson8b) and S812 (meson8m2). S802 (meson8) should also work but I have no hardware to test it. I think nobody is working on AML8726-MX (meson6)
<xdarklight> exkc: also NAND is a pain on these older SoCs (and currently not supported), I tried it on S812 (meson8m2) a while ago and the controller was writing to memory outside the allocated DMA area. even Amlogic was not sure why
<f_> exkc: I personally have no interest in Meson6/Meson8/Meson8M2 :P

<exkc> alr
<exkc> I looked the amlogic's mesonq1/2/3/6 kernel
<exkc> it seem it is based on a kernel that pre date dts
<exkc> Oh drama i would have to hard time to understand their kernel i hate kernel that pre date dts
<exkc> is meson use dwc2
<exkc> *meson6
<exkc> i hope it use it
<exkc> alr i found a s805 kernel that some code for mx .
<exkc> in that kernel there is few dts for mx.
<exkc> but they coded in non standard way
<exkc> *are

<xdarklight> hexdump0815: thanks you but I'll have to pass on this - I already have too many Amlogic boards, too many hobbies and too little time
<hexdump0815> xdarklight: i kind of expected this - but it was worth a try :)
