<gab> hello
<gab> sorry to intrude with a question out of the blue, but I've been looking everywhere for clues without finding any hint or answer
<gab> I've been building a khadas-vim3 yocto image with meta-meson, but can't get anything on HDMI output after the kernel starts (output is working in mainline uboot)
<gab> kmscube fails with 'failed to set mode: Unknown error 524' (which according to strace is an ENOTSUPP returned by DRM_IOCTL_MODE_SETCRTC on /dev/dri/card1)
<gab> /sys/class/drm/card1-HDMI-A-1/status says 'connected' but /sys/class/drm/card1-HDMI-A-1/enabled says 'disabled'
<gab> meson-drm seems okay in dmesg: https://pastebin.com/8Eignb56
<gab> /sys/class/drm/card1-HDMI-A-1/modes also shows proper supported modes for this monitor (I also tested another one without success)
<gab> this is using linux-yocto_5.15.62+gitAUTOINC+59c8898d45_14879dcc3c (with meta-meson's kirkstone branch)
<gab> I'm currently building an image with linux-yocto_5.10.137+gitAUTOINC+e462ebf625_83cf01cdac to see if anything changes
<gab> (also, been trying amlogic-image-sato and amlogic-image-headless-sd with same results)
<gab> I just booted with kernel 5.10.137 and it works

<narmstrong> gab: hi, weird
<narmstrong> in fact this has been reported upstream, should be fixed on the next stable
<gab> I tried on odroid N2 as well and 5.15 seems to have the same issue
<gab> (currently building 5.10 for this machine to cross check)
<narmstrong> `It seems that backporting commit 7cd70656d128 ("drm/bridge:
<narmstrong> display-connector: implement bus fmts callbacks") fixes the problem
<narmstrong> without reverting this commit.`
<gab> oh right, I just saw this commit 10 minutes ago while looking at v5.15..v5.19 log in drivers/gpu/drm/meson/ ^^
<gab> I'll just add it as a patch in bbappend then
<gab> (same result with odroid N2 btw, hdmi works with 5.10)

<gab> narmstrong: right, applying 7cd70656d128 as a patch over v5.15.62 fixes it, thanks :)

<gab> btw while I'm here, did anyone try/manage to run optee_os with mainline u-boot on S922X/A311D ? (I saw a message saying "ERROR: Error initializing runtime service opteed_fast" in u-boot's logs)

<narmstrong> It's possible to run the Amlogic OPTEE binary (32bit only snif) packaged in the FIP, at least it works fine with Linux OP-TEE support, never tried under u-boot
<gab> I'd like to build my own optee-os
<narmstrong> you can try :-p
<gab> it should be living in bl32 right ?
<narmstrong> yup
<narmstrong> a basic port was done for the AXG SoCs
<gab> ok this might be fun
<gab> hm... there's no opensource version of trusted-firmware-a for amlogic ?
<gab> I can see a plat/amlogic/g12a/ subdir in the sources
<gab> huh-oh... "3 years ago"
<narmstrong> well, it needs some people to do the work
