rebuliding 12.0.1/generic with 12.0 kernel (6.6.28) fixes the pxe uefi boot. hmm. so unknown change(s) made in and up to 6.6.46, look like regression. quick search didnt yield anything relevant though. and there's untested 6.6.47 already...

I would assume that next versions will not fix it either. So you best bet would be to try versions between 6.6.28 and 6.6.46 to see in which version things broke
