<kb1rd> Hey, I was just looking through the kernel arguments that LibreELEC takes and it has lines like “boot=UUID=uuidhere” or “boot=NFS=hostname/path” for network booting. Problem is, I’ve never heard of the Linux kernel taking a “boot=“ parameter and I can’t find any info about it online. What is this and where can I find docs about it?

<MrTAP> the ramdisk takes care of that
<kb1rd> Which program in the RAM disk does this? I’m trying to set up a non-standard network boot via iPXE and I’m getting “Error in mount_flash”
<MrTAP> i can't be more specific. whatever init is would fire that off
<kb1rd> Ok I’m disassembling init now…
<MrTAP> i would imagine the bit that cares would be a text script in bash or such. but i haven't looked at what LE uses.
<MrTAP> do you get as far as booting the kernel though?

<kb1rd> Yeah kernel boots
<kb1rd> That seems to load the entire FS properly, it just stops after booting part way. I’ve tried booting using “live” as well since I just want to start by proving it can work, then attaching NFS
<kb1rd> Oh wait looks like mount_flash is embedded into busybox 🤦‍♂️

<newuser566> someone told me that 10bit is maybe not working correctly with libreelec, any idea when it will work? having no luck with coreelec either
<newuser566> both work for normal movies quite well

<mack> newuser566: it works fine with supported hardware.
<mack> (as was explained to you previously :) )
<t1w> the issues with playing 50 fps and hw decoding h264 video
<t1w> the mentioned fixes of force_turbo=1 or core_freq_min=500 in config.txt doesn't seem to have any effect for me on a rpi4
<t1w> are there any other things to try?
