<ndufresne> Disconsented: looks like a software decoder is being picked, and it just decode slower then real-time
<ndufresne> -> ProfileHigh 10
<ndufresne> Which SoC ?
gouchi has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<Disconsented> ndufresne> Just a regular 2GB pi4 so a BCM2711 I believe, in LE 9.9 I disabled PRIME and the video now plays. Albeit at a lower refresh rate
<ndufresne> The H264 decoder on all Pi haven't changed since day one, so I doubt it support 10bit encoded videos
<ndufresne> There is probably no code to make software decoder works with PRIME
<ndufresne> (aka dmabuf)
<Disconsented> 10 bit colour is possibly the issue? Interesting
<ndufresne> if I'm interpreting the data in the gist you provided, yes
<ndufresne> Pi4 is an interesting board, as it hold old and new HW on the same SoC, a very old H264 decoder, with modern HEVC decoder ...
<ndufresne> and performance of each comp aren't exactly balanced very well either
<Disconsented> 2160p capable HEVC controller
<Disconsented> but only 1080p on H264
<Disconsented> ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
<ndufresne> correct, 10bit 4K HEVC
<ndufresne> that's what I mean by "interesting"
<Disconsented> I wonder if I can get emby to transcode into HEVC for me
<ndufresne> that would be ideal for that board
<ndufresne> but yeah, I kind of prefer boards with mode 4k support
<ndufresne> * mode/more
<ndufresne> ok, got to go, see you !
<Disconsented> Thanks!
