@Cathrine: thanks for the response (from 11/23/2023), sorry for the late reply. I saw your message when it was sent but I didn't have the energy to reply. I finally got all the components and will try to assemble 5 Glasgows today. Note that the LDOs were all available on mouser back when I ordered them, so wasn't annoying at all. However the diode arrays I couldn't find anywhere in stock but on aliexpress, which was annoying. I only

ever order ancient parts from aliexpress to repair devices that are out of production. I have not been bitten by fake parts yet, but I'm very aware of the risk. The packaging looks okay, but I'll be thoroughly checking the parts with a multimeter in diode mode.

esden (@_discord_269693955338141697:catircservices.org) how much per month bills u got to pay approx vs income, i imagine 1bitsquared was severly impacted last few years from shortages and covid 19 health problems

axiesmoothie (@_discord_543600906957094952:catircservices.org) it is a hard question to answer. FWIW i had to take on a full time consulting job end of 2022 to make ends meet. Which is on top of all my 1BitSquared responsabilities. So anything glasgow related had to be relegated to "when I have a little time spare between the things that pay money" I would love to just full time work on that and finally have people stop asking questions
<esden[m]>
like yahyeet. But I definitely want it done this year. The sooner the better. :/
<esden[m]>
I still believe that I can get a big chunk of the backlog done before the end of February.
<axiesmoothie[m]>
I see, I realized that if u stopped making videos about glasglow it was due to something along those lines
<axiesmoothie[m]>
Maybe I can donate money to help free some time for 1bitsquared but depends how much is actually needed lol
<esden[m]>
I really appreciate that! I wish that was that simple. Something like github sponsors or Patreon are definitely welcome. (I have both) That said I still have to fulfill the immediate consulting job requirements. I assume the consulting job will be finished some time mid this year, and I would love to not have to take on another contract, and focus on the open source hardware stuff. It is not just glasgow that suffers. :/
<axiesmoothie[m]>
okok yea i imagine u can't just quit like that. will look at patreon/sponsors - good to know theres a chance u can be back on the open side mid year
<esden[m]>
Greatly appreciated! I also want to get back to videos/streaming. GitHub is here https://github.com/sponsors/esden and Patreon is here https://www.patreon.com/1bitsquared I am still curious what would be the right thing to post on patreon to make people feel more appreciated. I guess monthly reports is what I should start doing? I keep forgetting to post there, we did have a bunch of Black Magic Debug releases since my last post there...
<axiesmoothie[m]>
I found the links all by myself but thanks XD - dunno what u can post I guess just short updates on your open work stuff is sufficient, probably also some people who donate don't always expect to be updated
<axiesmoothie[m]>
I'm more into one time donations so I think github sponsors is better for that
<axiesmoothie[m]>
ill wait until btc goes up a little more and donate cuz gotta exchange etc may as well get some free money for u in exchange for time while we're at it
<esden[m]>
Sounds good! 🙂 I don’t think GitHub has a way to post updates?
<esden[m]>
I wish they did. I guess I should revamp my blog at some point and post updates that way.
