<yahyeet0644[m]> Yes, but that was end of July. Any current updates?
<ar> i think the latest update is that there's a firmware fix for first connection experience on windows
<ar> which is what prevented shipping at least the early-bird units
<Attie[m]> correct - esden @esden:matrix.org is currently working through programming the ~200x early bird units with new firmware, and will be shipping them to Mouser "soon"
<galibert[m]> Then I guess you wait a little to see if there's important feedback coming?
<galibert[m]> Especially since esden will need a vacation
<galibert[m]> How many do you need to ship to cover CS after that, 1-2k?

<esden[cis]> Reflashed the Glasgows yesterday
K900 has joined #glasgow
<K900> Woo
<Attie[m]> 👀
<esden[cis]> And they are packed for shipping.
<Attie[m]> 🥳
<Attie[m]> well done!
<esden[cis]> At the moment I am working with Crowd Supply to figure out the details of the shipping as that load theoretically exceeds the amount I can ship UPS to Mouser... but despite me requesting a freight shipping account from Mouser a while ago I still don't have the login credentials. >_<
icb_ is now known as icb
<icb> How long did it take to reflash the ~200?
<K900> Where are you shipping from/to?
<esden[cis]> icb: most of the day yesterday, as I had to also unpack them from the antistatic ziplocks
<esden[cis]> K900 ⚡️: oregon to texas
<icb> Ouch. Well, glad they're done now
<esden[cis]> icb: Yes me too. Thanks :)
<K900> Oof
<K900> So not doable with a truck
<sven> nice, well done! can’t wait to receive mine :)
<K900> Got it
<esden[cis]> I mean it is not like it has to cross an ocean... if it was a city over I would jump into the car and drive it over but it does not make sense to do several states over... I can spend my time better. That said it would be an interesting road trip :D
<esden[cis]> I am pretty sure it will end up being send with UPS as any usual product shipments to Mouser... it will get there reasonabely fast... be aware that mouser loves to keep things sitting for a while on their dock before they do anything with the inventory... I hope they will process it quickly though.
<galibert[m]> You plan to do series of 200 or to scale up?
<esden[cis]> I really want to get some feedback from those that get the early bird hardware before we ship the next batch to mouser.
<galibert[m]> Of course
<esden[cis]> I will be assembling hardware in the mean time.
<galibert[m]> And folding boxes ;-)
<esden[cis]> lol ... yeeeeh~
<galibert[m]> Little boxes… little boxes…

<ar> esden[cis]: that stack of glasgows looks pretty :3
<esden[cis]> Thanks 🙏 I like the picture too :)
<ar> FYI, glasgow in nixpkgs
<ar> whoops, premature enter
<tpw_rules> i will be very testing that
<ar> FYI, glasgow in nixpkgs is bumped to a version that contains the firmware fix: https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/256390
<ar> glasgow flash, the few selftests known to be working with revc3, and jtag works
<esden[cis]> 340lbs of Glasgow goodness ;)
<K900> Ouch
<K900> I just looked at that nixpkgs PR
<K900> It really needs fixing
<ar> whoops :/
<ar> tbh, there's one other thing that needs fixing that I only noticed now: https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/256390/files#diff-33c5dbe17a4f62fc9c206b5def1e45a3b473b40a5b867cdbd016d5f60ce0f443R59-R61 - macos uses a different env var → tests still fail there
<K900> I haven't actually looked at the Glasgow code, just the Python packaging bits
<ar> the metal case will probably look better, but even as is I like how it looks with the white pcb
