Esden: I'm a little curious... what is the problem with sending 11 boxes like that with UPS? are some of them too big or too heavy? or is it only a matter of a reasonable price for the shipment?

In theory it is more expensive to ship this much combined weight via ups compared to freight. But I checked and the price difference is very small. I think mouser might prefer to get all the boxes on one pallet instead of 11 individual boxes. That said it is a bit of speculation. Their shipping guide only says: under 150lbs ship ups and over 150lbs ship freight. It could be interpreted as in: one box/crate/pallet over 150lbs too so
<esden[m]>
🤷♂️
<thomasflummer[m]>
arh... ok... years ago, when we received a lot with UPS, it often did arrive on pallets even though it was regular UPS parcel shipments, but when it was 100+ parcels in one shipment (total weight of several hundred kg) from the same place to the same place, at least the last mile out to us was almost always in large vehicles and on pallets, but that was in Denmark... might be different stateside...
<thomasflummer[m]>
back then and I think still, UPS had a limit of 1000 kg in one shipment, 70 kg max per parcel, so sometimes we received ~130 parcels on one shipment and another ~25 parcels in another one, but they usually all arrived at the same time...
<esden[m]>
Yeah it doers make sense. I don’t know then… it might be an arbitrary cutoff that someone at mouser invented 🤷♂️
<esden[m]>
This would not be the first arbitrary thing they do or require 😉
<esden[m]>
UPS says they will get the boxes to Mouser on Tuesday this coming week…
<esden[m]>
Thursday!!! >_<
