<d1b2> <esden> @tpw_rules as we don't have software support in the Glasgow framework for the RAM-Pak and I don't currently have the spare cycles to work on it myself I have decided to focus on the rest of the Glasgow hardware and the RAM-Pak is for the moment on ice. They will be available in the future when we have at least one demo applet that can access/use the extra memory. The hardware is tested using a non Glasgow gateware that @tnt put together, and it
<d1b2> is known to work, and mechanically it is proven to fit inside the aluminium case. If someone is super motivated to add support for the extra memory to the Glasgow ecosystem and just needs a RAM-Pak I am sure we can arrange something. 🙂
<tpw_rules> i might be interested
<tpw_rules> i'll have to dig more into the glasgow software though
<tpw_rules> but being limited to only the block RAM and not even SPRAM is kind of cramped for some of the applications i was imagining
<tpw_rules> do you have some spares to send out?
<d1b2> <esden> Do you have a Glasgow that you could use it with? And yes, you will need to get more familiar with the framework and Amaranth to get that to work. AFAIK we don't have a Hyperram protocol implentation in Amaranth? (someone will correct me if I am wrong) The Verilog that tnt put together is really pushing the ice40 to it's limits to get really nice speeds out, so there is a bunch of work to be done to catch up with that.
<tpw_rules> i have an early bird on order and am quite familiar with amaranth. just not how glasgow uses it specifically
<d1b2> <esden> Ok, then let's talk about it when the early birds are assembled and on the way to mouser. I have materials to assemble some more prototype RAM-Paks here and I can do that after that is done.
<tpw_rules> sounds good! it would be great to contribute back
<tpw_rules> (why mouser? are they not going to my house??)
<d1b2> <esden> sounds good! 🙂 It is quite a community project after all.
<d1b2> <esden> So... CrowdSupply is owned by Mouser. All CrowdSupply rewards are fulfilled by Mouser. (AFAIK with very rare exceptions)
<tpw_rules> ah, didn't know that
<d1b2> <esden> Especially for non US orders Mouser has these things figured out much better than the small operation we have here at 1BitSquared, so it is a good thing. 😄

<cyborg_ar> mouser is <3
<cyborg_ar> ever since digikey stopped shipping stuff on time it has been really hard to switch back from mouser
