Greetings.
<cousin_luigi>
I have a video_ts folder: can ffmpeg extract subtitles from it?

yes
<cousin_luigi>
But I did it already with a different tool, thanks. Trouble is, OCR on linux is not great.

<jafa>
I am seeing a problem where ffmpeg can't keep up with real time, not maxing out cpu or gpu, and not resolution dependent, only dependent on the number of video encodes happening at once...
<jafa>
input is raw 1920x1080 from a Blackmagic SDI card. Error is the input source reporting buffer overflow
<jafa>
output is DASH
<jafa>
video encode is Intel QSV or libx265
<jafa>
if I encode 3 video rates (1 input, 3-way split) ffmpeg keeps up and works perfectly
<jafa>
if I add a 4th video rate ffmpeg falls behind
<jafa>
when using the Intel GPU my filter does a YUV conversion, hwupload, then X-way split. The encoding is 100% on the Intel GPU. CPU load is light, GPU load is about 25%
<jafa>
also it doesn't matter what resolutions I pick... same problem if two of them are 1080p60 and 720p60 or if I only do SD resolutions
<jafa>
3 video encodes good, 4 bad
<jafa>
if I switch to libx265 the symptom is identical
<jafa>
cpu load is higher obviously but still not anywhere near maxing out the cpu)
<jafa>
when the Intel gpu everything after the one hwupload through the encodes should be in gpu-space - the cpu only has to get the frame data to the gpu once and then pull out X hevc streams
Fiji has joined #ffmpeg
<jafa>
the system can handle more encodes at once no problem if I use separate instances of ffmpeg to pull from different sdi inputs... the problem is only within any one ffmpeg instance
<jafa>
wondering if it might be related to dash combining the results for the manifest generation
