<jafa> when generating dash is there a way to specify the timebase to use in the mp4 files?
<jafa> or can I rescale the times+timebase after the encoding before the dash layer?

<tistatos> Hello! I was wondering if it is a known issue that using ffmpeg (x86-64) inside of a docker container on m1 mac causes mp3 decoding to create bad results? Its as if the results goes through a ring modulation... My guess is that it's not a ffmpeg issue per se, but rather something in the qemu emulation that occurs in docker... I tested it with john
<tistatos> van sickle's static builds

<kode54> docker isn't using an arm VM?
<tistatos> kode54 i tested both - arm64 and AMD64... which also got my very confused about what witchcraft allowed me to use an x86-64 binary inside of the arm VM
<tistatos> regardless of the architecture on the docker container: trying to use a x86-64 binary shows the issue - while an arm-build in an arm64 container does not show the issue
<kode54> maybe their qemu is buggy

<bouchiba43> hello is this ffmpeg support?
Sario has joined #ffmpeg
<JEEB> it is the user side IRC channel
<JEEB> so yes, if you have questions you can post them here :)
<bouchiba43> i didn't understand , can you guide me how to contact ffmpeg support?
<bouchiba43> i have a browser image that doesn't support audio , i want to add audio to it and export it to another container in real time (for live streaming purposes) , the second container i'm using ffmpeg
<bouchiba43> i have two containers in the same pod : i want to send audio from the browser conatiner to ffmpeg container in real time for streaming purposes how can i send the audio in real time from a container to another knowing that i cannot modify the yaml files , i can just modify the images
<JEEB> there is no paid FFmpeg support, just people you can poke for contracting etc. for usage help (both cli and API) this is the correct location :)
Sario has left #ffmpeg [WeeChat 4.3.5]
<bouchiba43> always i got this error , Unknown input format: 'pulse'
<bouchiba43> and this is the command that i use :
<JEEB> well let's leave out the bit that you're using containers or possibly k8s for now, let's focus on the cli or API usage. can you give an example of what you're currently doing with ffmpeg with a pastebin or so, and then link it here? so that we can gain understanding what are the in-outs etc
<bouchiba43> i'm using k8s yes
<bouchiba43> i will explain in details (sorry for my english)
<bouchiba43> i want to live stream browser contents to rtmp endpoint like twitch
<bouchiba43> but the browser is headless (used by browsing automation tool like selenoid/moon)
minimal has joined #ffmpeg
<bouchiba43> so i have builded my custom browser image (conatiner)
<bouchiba43> and builded my video streamer container that uses ffmpeg
<bouchiba43> ffmpeg -loglevel info \ -probesize ${PROBESIZE} -analyzeduration ${ANALYZE_DURATION} \ -f x11grab -video_size ${VIDEO_SIZE} -r ${FRAME_RATE} -draw_mouse 0 -i ${DISPLAY} \ -f pulse -i default \ -c:v ${CODEC} -preset ${PRESET} -tune zerolatency -pix_fmt yuv420p \ -b:v ${BITRATE} -maxrate ${BITRATE} -bufsize $((${BITRATE/k/} * 2))k \ -profile:v main -level 3.1 \ -x264
tieinv has joined #ffmpeg
<bouchiba43> the issue now i don't know how to use audio with ffmpeg for live streaming , i have tried pulse audio and did't works
Icedream has quit [Quit: A lol made me boom.]
<JEEB> if you run `ffmpeg -devices` do you have the pulse one even built into your FFmpeg binary?
<JEEB> also it sounds really funky that you are trying to screen capture from a container, but that's up to you
<bouchiba43> i cannot access the container since it fails directly (cannot access its host)
<bouchiba43> i have some purposes to do that
Icedream has joined #ffmpeg
<JEEB> but yea, you need to have built your FFmpeg binary with the pulse input device if you want to utilize it, which then requires the pulse development package
Icedream has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<bouchiba43> i will download them inside the container and try it , thanks anyway
nrg has quit [Quit: ZNC - https://znc.in]
Icedream has joined #ffmpeg
<JEEB> in any case `ffmpeg -devices` lists the enabled/built input and output devices

<JEEB> so if pulse is not listed there, then it was not enabled in the build :P

<zim1> Hey, i have a little project where I make a list of images from a camera (which look like DSCN1234.JPG, DSCN1235.JPG ...)
<zim1> I then want to concat them into a single gif file.
<zim1> I run:
<zim1>   ffmpeg -loglevel debug -f concat -safe 0 -i "$IMAGE_LIST_FILE" -gifflags +transdiff -y -vf "fps=10" -loop 0 "$OUTPUT_FILE"
<zim1> ffmpeg says:
<zim1>   [in#0/concat @ 0x6538b33ef6c0]   Input stream #0:0 (video): 12 packets read (5032137 bytes); 12 frames decoded; 0 decode errors;
<zim1> but the gif only has 5 frames. Other test have similiar results.
<zim1> can anyone tell me whats going on? how i can fix this?
<zim1> could it be filename sanitation?
<zim1> and where i could find proper documenation?
<zim1> would really appreciate it. :)

<BtbN> I think concat defaults to 25 fps?
<BtbN> And you're telling it to convert the 25 to 10 fps, which will result in it dropping a bunch of frames to convert the 25 fps input stream to 10 fps
<BtbN> also, concat isn't really meant for image files
<BtbN> jpeg probably ends up working cause it'll effectively be mjpeg
