<davidlt[m]> GCC 12 build died, I think I have the fix, restarted
<fuwei> davidlt[m]: we did it , but it is not the latest
<davidlt[m]> I quickly looked that SRPM, but it didn't contain the changes I expected
<fuwei> upstream gcc works
<davidlt[m]> Actually the rawhide branch probably doesn't even compile on x86_64 anymore
<fuwei> maybe the env problem
<davidlt[m]> Not until 12.2 happens
<fuwei> we will try the latest tonight
<davidlt[m]> Our F33 is already F37/Rawhide level in some places
<davidlt[m]> GCC hasn't been updated yet to resolve compile errors since a new glibc landed
<fuwei> python and perl will be the hard ones
<davidlt[m]> GCC 12.2 RC should land tomorrow, so that will probably be within Fedora soonish
<davidlt[m]> Nick is already working on binutils 2.39, so I plan to import that as soon as I see a green build
<fuwei> we may update them step by step, it maybe safer
<fuwei> binutils should be 2.39 to include some fix for riscv
<fuwei> we are waiting for 2.39 so long
<fuwei> otherwise , we need some patch for opensbi/uboot/kernel
<davidlt[m]> I had a chat with Carlos about that. Hopefully we the situation (i.e. binutils lagging) can be improved in the future.
<davidlt[m]> We don't need patches.

<fuwei> for binutils , it is still 2.38.24
<fuwei> rawhide
<davidlt[m]> Nick is already working on updating that
<fuwei> the patches I mentioned has been merged to upstream , some assemble code problem
<davidlt[m]> That's a problem
zsun has joined #fedora-riscv
<davidlt[m]> It's just that the ISA standard change, nothing too much magical here
<fuwei> but 2.39 will include the best fix for the problem
<fuwei> yse
<davidlt[m]> A few packages and changes are already all upstream
<fuwei> ISA standard change
<fuwei> yeap
<davidlt[m]> Well, 2.39 doesn't "fix that"
<fuwei> it supports "that assemble code"
<fuwei> I should use "support"
