<iooi> actually, I am such a X11 noob: added -device virtio-mouse-pci -device virtio-keyboard-pci to my qemu start command - now I can log in using the virtio-gpu-pci although on an american keymap
<iooi> Also, I was able to get some minimal X11 output on the screen: using ‚xinit xterm‘ instead of just ‚startx‘
<iooi> I was used to preconfigured X11 systems so I never had to care for the xsession before
<davidlt[m]> X11 should work, there is minimal support for that IIRC. Not really used too much.
<davidlt[m]> Long time ago we did this: https://bellard.org/jslinux/vm.html?cpu=riscv64&url=https://bellard.org/jslinux/fedora29-riscv-xwin.cfg&graphic=1&mem=256
<davidlt[m]> Basically it boots Fedora 29 RISC-V with GUI in the browser.

<iooi> davidlt[m]: meanwhile I progressed some more steps, X11 works but no cursor was showing. For this I used the workaround here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1869609#p1869609 (Softwarecursor).
