<rwmjones> morning
<BryceII> marginally cooler,.. I can just about start functioning again
<pierce> What type of cooling are you using Brycell?
<BryceII> air 8)
<BryceII> though it's been horrible the past week,. 30C outside and +7 inside with the hosue insulation + commputers and monitos along with the humidity making it impossible to sweat properly
<BryceII> that said it looks like the weather is going to change to freakish rainfall for a couple of days which is NOT going to help my perfectly beige garden lawn
<pierce> Aha! Air! Check for an inscriptions specifying that a heatsink is required for cooling.
<pierce> Something that looks like this
<pierce> Perhaps check behind ears etc
<BryceII> I'm sure someone has tried water cooling thie unmatched by now though honestly I'm unsure how you would unhook the heatsink to do that, I'm not that familioar with the holding mechanism they've used
<pierce> Lol sorry I was making a joke that you and your body require the heatsink and fan
<pierce> Although, the unmatched may have ears too...
<pierce> On a serious note, I'm currently trying to get my old AIO water cooler coupled with the unmatched. I've got some "thermal glue" but I need something mechanical to hold it in place. Which I'll have to look around the hardware store once the lockdown has been lifted
<BryceII> still don;t know how you're going toremove the heatsink 8) I mean thers two slots in the heatsink fixture that some sort of tool probably goes into/bends to release it but I've no idea what you'd use
<pierce> I've managed to remove it already. I was a little ham fisted and broke on of the little pegs. But now it slides on and off
<pierce> * I've managed to remove it already. I was a little ham fisted and broke one of the little pegs. But now it slides on and off
<BryceII> aye, see the two slots on both sides I sort of expected that ther was some sort of tool/flatblade screwdriver lever in/out mechanism to release it but it looked kinda beefy and would requiore a lot of force which would in my case inevitably lead to massive catastrophic failure/board snapping
<pierce> Gotta risk of for the biscuit!
<BryceII> erk,.. I don;t want the wet biscuit!
<BryceII> ah
<BryceII> that the bloody things
<BryceII> .. and how to remove them
<pierce> * Gotta risk it for the biscuit!
<BryceII> ok I see,.. hurm ok the height of the heatsink would get in the way to properly lever it so I'd need something like a bent lever
<BryceII> but not too much since it's aluminum and would bend
<pierce> I very much hate that heatsink and fan, so I wasn't too bothered if I hurt it
<BryceII> lo
<BryceII> I get that they want to show that it's easy to cool but sometimes an overengineerd solution is easier (bigger quieter fan) even if it does perhaps draw a little more power
