rwmjones: that would depends on a few things /sigh/ . <hate hate hate> a zero build (horrifically slow) should be fine,.. but a JIT hotspot engine probably hasn;t been given any kind of priority as yet (I'll poke Mickeal later) and if we had one on the chopping block it would brobably be graalvm

licensing foo pops up when people want it supported and the support stuff always gets a higher priority and licensing to cover the costs

rwmjones: the other flip side is that jdk17 goes GA in September so technically not released .. which would be the other reason 8)

ah ok now that I quickly picked through given your ref,.. yeah... it is in OpenJDK sorta, just not a blessed project and/or in mainline yet
