Hello everyone. Is it possible to use variable substitution in a butane config? I'm trying to start a container at boot and I'd like to set a dynamic hostname but I dont want to hardcode the hostname since the config will be used for multiple machines.

<dustymabe>
marmijo[m]: you could use something like envsubst
<dustymabe>
marmijo[m]: are you just trying to set a hostname inside the container (i.e. like usuing podman run --hostname?)
<marmijo[m]>
Yeah, that's exactly what I'm trying to do. Without setting the hostname, the container picks up the hostname of the 'host', but I'm trying to set it to something different.
<marmijo[m]>
dustymabe: ...but I'm trying to dynamically set it based on the host's IP address
<dustymabe>
maybe we should just set the host's host name to the right value
<dustymabe>
or leave it unset in which case it could get it from DHCP or reverse DNS

<marmijo[m]>
dustymabe: That would be fine too. I'm not sure what the s390x server would do in that case though since there technically isnt a DNS name for it. It might just remain what it currently is set to
