<dustymabe> nashi74: seems like it would be a good candidate
<dustymabe> I know other people do run k3s on FCOS

<nashi74> dustymabe: thanks. one more question: is ZFS supported on coreos? i assume coreos is an immutable distro, so the usual installation instructions for zfs on fedora will not work
<nashi74> my use case is to use openebs with the zfs-local-pv provisioner
<dustymabe> nashi74: out of tree kernel modules are a bit of a pain, so that does make adoption a bit harder than usual
<dustymabe> nashi74: you *can* use something like coreos layering to build the kernel module and make a CoreOS layer that your nodes then update from: https://github.com/coreos/layering-examples/tree/main/loading-kernel-module

<nashi74> Thanks for the advice. I will look into it. ZFS is not a strict requirement for me, but I do have four hard drives in a RAIDZ2 configuration. If there is an equivalent setup that I can achieve with Longhorn, then I will likely opt for that if it proves to be simpler on FCOS

<nashi74> it looks like the layering examples already has an example of installing zfs in fcos, which is very nice
<nashi74> of the people you know using k3s on focs... are they using ignition files or image layering?

<baude> travier, im looking for clarification on https://github.com/coreos/ignition/pull/1696 wrt your last comment. first, "setup on qemu"; given this is not qemu based, is that a valid comment ?

<dustymabe> baude: he's more active on matrix so you might get better response times there
<baude> um, what if i dont have matrix
<dustymabe> baude: with the matrix/libera bridge being down and no fix in the foreseeable future I think most people that were holdouts on IRC (including me) are moving over to matrix. It' something I should have done a while ago TBH

<baude> what app do you use for matrix
<dustymabe> for graphical I use element (I use web based version, but there is an app) - for TUI I use weechat - there is a weematrix plugin
<dustymabe> you can just use your FAS account to sign in to chat.fedoraproject.org
<dustymabe> IIUC
<dustymabe> I had a matrix.org account before Fedora ever had that integration so I'm still using the matrix.org account
