<aardo> is this "https://git.crux.nu/system/iso/commits/branch/3.8" the right repo/branch for trying a 3.8 state of the art build?
<farkuhar> aardo: Yes, but you might want to tweak the config of the ISO kernel. Add some drivers for thermal monitoring, so that your CPU doesn't overheat when you chroot into the newly-installed system and start building the final kernel there.

<frinnst> lol
<frinnst> aardo: (he's joking btw :-)
<frinnst> this is the latest 3.8 rc iso if you want to just get it installed: https://crux.nu/files/rc/crux-3.8-rc3.iso

<farkuhar> It might sound like a joke, but consider this... we don't have a very large team for testing all the hardware out there. Unless jaeger is continually revisiting every screen of `make menuconfig`, as new drivers get added with each kernel update, it's possible that drivers for newer hardware are being omitted. Hence SiFuh's recent experience (admittedly the CPU overheated in a tropical climate).

<frinnst> yeah but kernel modules for thermal sensors won't really help you without userspace tools
<joacim> was going to say that but didnt want to have an irc argument on a sunday afternoon
