<cruxbridge> <tim> darfo: truecolor was working as well, iirc. And you got the foot terminfo port installed too, right?

<darfo> yes
<SiFuh> yes
<SiFuh> No
<SiFuh> Definitely a big fat no
<darfo> i missed one question. A: not using any terminal multiplexer.
<cruxbridge> <tim> do colors work outside vim as expected?
<darfo> yes.
<cruxbridge> <tim> well then, I am out of ideas :)
<darfo> i do have some colors set in foot.ini: [cursor] color=000000 ff0000, [colors] background=000000, foreground=00ff00. All other are default.
<cruxbridge> <tim> Yeah, I set colors too in foot.ini but I do use neovim, no problems with color there
<cruxbridge> <tim> you could try neovim with your vim config and see if that displays correctly. It should read your config just fine
<darfo> The fixes mentioned in https://github.com/vim/vim/commit/d7f5854fccb70ebaf327b6f9bfcf7871506d598b described what I was experiencing and fixes the issue. I'm happy to run that vim until the next natural update to core/vim.
<darfo> I've ossified over the years of using vim. forks and even gvim just slow me down and I get distracted from what I was trying to accomplish with an editor.
<cruxbridge> <tim> if distraction is a problem then you should avoid neovim :D
<darfo> lol
<cruxbridge> <tim> too many plugins to discover, too many things to tweak around the config :)
<darfo> that would definitely cause me to use up my meager spare time on the wrong things
