<Guest15> is there any other way than iso install ?
<Guest15> i have try all possoble solutions with iso it just doesnt work
<jaeger> You could try installing in a chroot from another distribution or livecd if you want... but with that said, what problems are you seeing?
<Guest15> with rufus as iso in uefi mode doesnt boot, in mbr mode doesnt mont dev for chroot after installing packages. in dd mode stucks in both cases. writen with vendoy, it fails to setup with error "cant found /media/crux" writen from terminal in dd it boots in black screen
<Guest15> while usb sticks are good, i have try with 2, they both work with other isos
<jaeger> Are you using the original crux-3.7.iso or the updated crux-3.7-updated.iso?
<jaeger> You should always use dd mode in rufus for the crux ISO, for what that's worth.
<jaeger> Also the latest ventoy works with the updated 3.7 ISO, I just tested that recently
<jaeger> (1.0.99)
<Guest15> im using iso 26-Sep-2022
<jaeger> Maybe try this one: https://crux.ninja/updated-iso/
<Guest15> oh, nice.. looks newer :)
<jaeger> That one is built automatically every weekend, for reference :)
<Guest15> its even n the page below with small laters, i havent seen it
<Guest15> thanks
<Guest15> going to try

<Guest39> Can i install online from livecd ? Looks like theres no package lz4
<Guest39> ...should be, its the fastes kernel decompressor
<Guest39> Will choose lzo for now, later i can rebuild
<Guest39> I may suggest add it in the feature isos
<cruxbridge> <jloc0> Guest39: lz4 is in contrib I believe.
<Guest39> It fails to build with lzo. I remember i saw it in base packages. While build reports lzop not found....
<Guest39> With xz it works
<Guest39> Its 3.3mb kernel , only 4 modules... with lz4 its 5.7 for me... its even question how much this decompression time have sense with that much dufference in size
<Guest39> ...fasyer but more to drcompress
<Guest39> Thats it... time to boot my new crux
<Guest39> Oh
<Guest39> Great
<Guest39> I have install only base... perfect way to learn what crux is... now the job comes, leraning curve
<Guest39> Im so excited, hqve heard great things about crux
<jaeger> Hope you enjoy it :)
<Guest39> ping: command not found :)  i like thos type of distros
