I was contacted yesterday by one of the libvisual developers, and we might be missing one package (libvisual-plugins), and I am curious if thats what was missing when you last tried to run projectm

I think I got it sorted out but will have to wait to double check as I'm building it again on the HTPC. I reinstalled the HTPC fully recently when I could not figure out why the hell it wouldn't build rhash

Agreed. I tried rebuilding the toolchain several times, I reinstalled the toolchain packages from the ISO, built everything in clean docker containers and then installed those packages, etc. etc.
