Hi
<Guest7>
can we use this BeaglePlay board for robot programing, if yes then can we install ROS in this?

"BeagleBoard.org announces BeaglePlay, the fun industrial computer" ...for some reason the "-Play" and "fun industrial computer" put me off it right away.

I am interested in using the BeagleBone for a project I am working on, and I was wondering if you could help me with these questions. Is there an HDMI port on the BeagleBone that allows me to connect it to a monitor or TV? Also, I was wondering if it is possible to connect a CCTV camera to the BeagleBone so that I can use it for coding purposes. If
<Guest6877>
you have any experience or knowledge in this area, I would greatly appreciate your insight.
<Stat_headcrabed>
Yes, most beaglebone board has HDMI port
<Stat_headcrabed>
For camera, only USB and CSI port supported
<Stat_headcrabed>
And CSI isn't available for every board
<Stat_headcrabed>
AI-64 and new Beagleplay supports CSI
<Stat_headcrabed>
AI-64 doesn't have HDMI but has a mini DP port and could be converted to DP/HDMI
<Guest6877>
I was wondering if it is possible to connect a CCTV camera directly to the BeagleBone without using local network so that I can use it for coding purposes?
<Stat_headcrabed>
I don't know what port your camera is using...
<zmatt>
outrageous: it's indeed an interesting naming choice
<zmatt>
Guest6877: you should be more specific which BeagleBone you're talking about

<zmatt>
Guest6877: for the BeagleBone Black your only options would be network and usb. either way keep in mind that the BBB may not be the best platform for video processing, but I guess it depends on what you intend to do

zmatt outrageous: don't know if I can defend the name. just wanted to emphasize it is focused on making sensors easy.

jkridner: The fun part may work well for drawing in a less experienced crowd, which would be all good. I suppose I mostly found the naming of it kind of odd...sounded slightly like "industrial equipment for children" :)
