milkylainen: at least some patches deserve some credits to your prior work, let me know what tags I should add

for the clocks issue I'm working on adding the main_rc clk to the clk hw array in the at91 pmc driver, so it can be referenced from DT, but this will be tricky for sama7g5. will try a proof-of-concept for sam9x60 only first

milkylainen: good news, hooked up the main_rc_osc clk to dt and otpc driver now, and driver does not timeout anymore \o/
<LeSpocky>
just need to find a solution for sama7g5 and put it in consumable patches
<LeSpocky>
oh well and add a second nvmem device for the OTPC Product UID x Registers

LeSpocky: yay. :) You prefer a second nvmem instead of my split mapping one? :)
HerbY_NL has quit [Quit: My MacBook has gone to sleep. ZZZzzz…]
<LeSpocky>
milkylainen: maybe I have a look at your mapping again, looked like you just had thrown out the otp part and added the UID instead on first glance, maybe I did not understand it
<milkylainen>
LeSpocky: It reserves part of the later mapping as static address and the first part as the dynamic, variable one.
<milkylainen>
But in doing so, it restricts the number of starting addresses for the dynamic mapping.
<milkylainen>
In other words, number of packages.
<milkylainen>
sry, "packets" in manuf. wording.
<milkylainen>
It's actually beyond ugly, but nvmem doesn't map well onto this solution of the OTP.
<LeSpocky>
milkylainen: I would just leave that "real" OTP part as is and register a second nvmem device for the UID only. I expect this to make things easier in userspace if I just want to read the UID and don't care for the OTP contents
<LeSpocky>
milkylainen: FWIW I just force pushed to the aformentioned repo, the clk fix proof of concept is in there, if you want, put your changes on top and give it a try
<milkylainen>
LeSpocky: great, thanks.
<milkylainen>
LeSpocky: You'd still need to cut the first one down. It's bigger than the offset of the uids.
<LeSpocky>
I don't think so, the first nvmem dev is constructed in memory, the .reg_read function is mapped to mchp_otpc_read() which gets things through the OTPC interface with address, header, and data registers. the nvmem device is no direct mapping to io memory
<LeSpocky>
the second nvmem dev can be a simple one however directly reading the UID registers from io mem
