<TheSHADOW>
Howdy. So, on top of kernel panic on OPi5 when powered on attached to a turned-off TV, I've got another fun issue.
<TheSHADOW>
Change in behavior after updating to kernel 6.1.75, instead of running the display at native resolution it is now running it at highest-supported resolution. I'd really rather not have to manually reset the resolutions on all the machines this affects...
<TheSHADOW>
I probably should've stuck with the legacy kernel, I figured this was more or less stable now. :-P

[Discord] <epokhe> Just installed armbian ubuntu on an rpi3, and got this
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <epokhe> ```
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <epokhe> W: Possible missing firmware /lib/firmware/rtl_nic/rtl8156b-2.fw for built-in driver r8152
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <epokhe> ...
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <epokhe> ```
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <epokhe> I don't know what exactly this means. r8152 seems to be related to usb ethernet adapters. Does rpi3 support ethernet over usb? And does this mean I lose that functionality?

<TheSHADOW>
Is the onboard ethernet working?
<TheSHADOW>
And just to be sure, this is a 3B, not a 3A?
<TheSHADOW>
And geez, why does Mouser have 750 3As sittign around??
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <epokhe> Yeah, I'm connected with the ethernet
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <epokhe> it's a 3B
<TheSHADOW>
Then I wouldn't worry about it unless you need a usb ethernet adapter. Then if necessary you can add the module to your kernel.
<TheSHADOW>
(Or use an adapter that uses a different chip.)
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <epokhe> 👍🏻
<TheSHADOW>
Sometimes drivers are excluded from the kernel, for various reasons.
<TheSHADOW>
Unwanted side-effects. Binary blobs that aren't entirely understood.
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <epokhe> Unrelated - I am trying to configure the wifi. Installed armbian-config. Wifi option doesn't appear under network.
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <epokhe> Also, I'm gonna need to enable i2c, but I don't see hardware option under system.
