[Discord] <awesomerly> I am futzing around with stuff at this point and I stumbled across spidev_test
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <awesomerly> I have it all hooked up to my logic analyzer
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <awesomerly> i have aorange pi zero 3
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <awesomerly> but when I connect the logic analyzer probes to pin3 (cs0) and pin24 (cs1), I don't notice anything happening
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <awesomerly> even as the CLK and DOUT are working.
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <awesomerly> does anyone know why that would happen? is this the wrong place to ask?
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <awesomerly> doesn't matter whether I enable spidev1.0 or spidev1.1

[Discord] <n3bula> I have a BananaPi M2 Ultra Armbian.
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <n3bula> I flash "Armbian_23.08.0-trunk_Bananapim2ultra_bookworm_current_6.1.37.img.xz" on a SDcard and boot. Everything works fine.
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <n3bula> If I run the following commands:
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <n3bula> sudo apt update
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <n3bula> sudo apt upgrade
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <n3bula> And afterwards I reboot the device, it cant boot anymore.
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <n3bula> Thank you I'll check and test if it fix my issue

[Discord] <n3bula> How to apply this fix?
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <n3bula> I first run
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <n3bula> sudo apt update
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <n3bula> sudo apt upgrade
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <n3bula> And then how to apply this fix?
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <n3bula> Or should I exclude /hold anything before upgrade?
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <n3bula> I tried to hold "linux-u-boot-bananapim2ultra-current/bookworm 24.5.1 armhf" and upgraded. Same error since I saw update-initramfs does also change something in uboot.

<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <Werner> Just FYI: Uboot is usually not actually written when upgrade happens. Only the necessary files are downloaded. The reason is because it is rarely really necessary to actually rewrite uboot
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <n3bula> So should I normally upgrade and after change something manually in uboot?
buzzmarshall has joined #armbian
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <Werner> If you changed something in uboot I think you can use armbian-install to rewrite it
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <n3bula> I dont change anything manually in uboot. There are some automatic changes if I run apt upgrade

<DC-IRC>
[Matrix] <werner:matrix.armbian.com> I think this is just conversion to u-boot format.
<Herc>
n3bula, b4 upgrading you could try armbian-config>system>freeze (holds kernel, uboot and three other things too)
* Herc
is not familiar w/ uboot tho

[Discord] <0berbefehlshaber> Hi, im trying to build armbian for a Bananpi, sadly i get this error everytime: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages. I get this error with every combination of board and bases that i tested: including bookworm, bullseye, yammie, and different boards, also officially supported ones.
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <0berbefehlshaber> it always seems to be this specific file: armbian-bsp-cli-bananapi-current_24.8.0-trunk_armhf__1-PCd360-V3c34-H9299-Ba0e2-R6632.deb
<DC-IRC>
[Discord] <0berbefehlshaber> when i check the dependencies for that package they are all installed and up to date.
