<bret> OK, well figured out why my Orange Pi Zero 2 benchmark numbers were lower than expected, as the CPU is only running at 1006MHz, will need to find the forum post I saw a while ago about trying to change that.. oops

<bret> Hm not sure, I didn't look into it much, I downloaded the latest image available on the page to do some testing and noticed there whilst looking at something else. Compared the old image I used for benchmarking and it was the same

<IgorPec> i don't why he closed that MR ...

<mntn>
Anyone else have
<mntn>
oops... anyone else have an Inovato Quadra? It comes with a vendor patched Armbian
<mntn>
thinking about replacing it with stock Armbian but I'm not going to waste my time if it's all broken
<mntn>
I don't care if everything works just CPU, USB, SD, and Ethernet
<mntn>
I swore I wouldn't buy anything else that required vendor patch junk but it is such a cute little box, would make a good VPN gateway or print server or something
<mntn>
that is if I can get it running stock
<mntn>
it's the same as the "T95 mini" Android TV box FWIW
<mntn>
I guess I should just do it and stop being lazy

<[TheBug]>
@mntn it is effectively Armbian anyways, in the future I think the drivers they patch seperately will be addressed as I think there are patches. The differences with Inovato's build is they dress up the desktop some and give some additional option per the hardware is my understanding... but yeah if you arn't messing with the Xradio wifi, Armbian would work most likely in a similar way.
<mntn>
perfect, thanks
<[TheBug]>
Though they did spend a good amount of time on their image to make sure it works well for that box which was their goal.. so I am not sure exactly the gain of one over the other
<[TheBug]>
or if there is one
<mntn>
I thought that might be the case, Kodi worked OK except for game graphics
<mntn>
I just don't want to end up with yet another SBC that's got an ancient "vendor supported" kernel that never gets updated
<mntn>
too many bad experiences with that
<[TheBug]>
because in general Armbian doesn't support TV box.. so if you do have questions specific to it I would put it in the forum which is where support for TV is. Though Inovato guys are cool so figured I would at least give you soem info and get you pointed the right way.
<[TheBug]>
basically if you have some issue and have question I would post it in the forum instead of asking here cause you may not get response here.
<mntn>
ah ok, thanks
<mntn>
yeah I really like what they are doing and I hope they upstream the patches
<mntn>
I am just wary of vendor supported stuff in general, but I figured since this one was mostly stock Armbian that it should be fine
<mntn>
will report back findings for anyone else searching for this in the future

<NicoD> "Effort for keeping devices functional and answering to endless users question are private expenses of Armbian maintainers. They are extreme and we already cover too big part of. Vendors don't or can't help while users share is traditionally very low. Please take some of our burden away! We are happy to help - when you help. Even you don't use Armbian, you might benefit from our work. " This sentence on the download page
<Armbian-Discord>
isn't grammatically correct. First I think it should start with "the" "The effort for keeping..." Users question -> user questions The part of " are private expenses of Armbian maintainers." -> and are at the expense of Armbian maintainers time/money. They -> The costs and we already cover too big part of. -> makes no sense ... Just to mention, would be good that someone who speaks English rewords this. Looks very amateurish like
