<DC-IRC> <lanefu> hey those errors always have the best path to resolution
<DC-IRC> <jkent> Haha, indeed.. writing SD card now
<DC-IRC> <jkent> Boo, same result. Kernel log stops at:
<DC-IRC> <jkent> `[ 14.726902] midgard ff9a0000.gpu: failed to read out thermal zone (-22)`
<DC-IRC> <jkent> I'll try a bullseye image
<DC-IRC> <jkent> if that fails, something broke with my recent pull
<DC-IRC> <jkent> wish i knew what that commit hash was
<DC-IRC> <jkent> There are a couple patches that fail to apply
<DC-IRC> <jkent> Possibly related
<DC-IRC> <lanefu> have your logs?
<DC-IRC> <jkent> from my recent builds, yes. Previous builds no. But I do have an old tree on my desktop. I'm using a remote build machine at the moment because I'm on a horribly underpowered notebook
<DC-IRC> <lanefu> remote build machine is the only way to fly
<DC-IRC> <jkent> indeed
<DC-IRC> <jkent> there is one more change that happened in my environment, i should test that while waiting on my build to download... I switched from a Samsung 64 GB EVO Select to a Samsung 128 GB EVO Plus
<DC-IRC> <jkent> Nope, thats not it.
<DC-IRC> <jkent> building with 9cdb0421999824adb50ea15955819df359d871ed, which was last known working, when built on my workstation
<DC-IRC> <jkent> if that fails, something very very screwy is going on :)
<DC-IRC> <jkent> and, that fails too
<DC-IRC> <jkent> https://jkent.net/~jkent/armbian/logs-20230516/ -- archive has the kernel build
<DC-IRC> <jkent> trying a current kernel now... just for the hell of it
<DC-IRC> <jkent> maybe my t4 is toast?
<DC-IRC> <jkent> interestingly, i never get the heartbeat led
<DC-IRC> <jkent> T4 works with friendlyarm debian bullseye fore image, so its not toast
<DC-IRC> <jkent> T4 works with friendlyarm debian bullseye core image, so its not toast
<DC-IRC> <jkent> Current boots
<DC-IRC> <jkent> sooo, something about legacy broke... toolchain maybe?
<DC-IRC> <jkent> i've got one other thing to test
<DC-IRC> <jkent> good news! edge works with pcie/nvme now!
<DC-IRC> <jkent> legacy isn't as big of a deal now
<DC-IRC> <jkent> ~~legacy isn't as big of a deal now~~
<DC-IRC> <jkent> ~~good news! edge works with pcie/nvme now!~~
<DC-IRC> <jkent> 5.10.63 image, false alarm... i'll try edge here in a second.. i'm up too late
<DC-IRC> <jkent> [ 5.018297] rockchip-pcie f8000000.pcie: PCIe link training gen1 timeout!
<DC-IRC> <jkent> .. same as before, no nvme
<DC-IRC> <rpardini> `rockchip64` `legacy` (ayufan stuff?) was not building up until the other day...
<DC-IRC> <rpardini> oh. I see now. `nanoptc4` has been hijacked into `media` family, I forgot. Sorry.
<DC-IRC> <IgorPec> nobody wanted it
<DC-IRC> <IgorPec> but this pci timeout is present everywhere i think
<DC-IRC> <rpardini> I have one running on the other side of the world, but I switched it to `rockchip64`
<DC-IRC> <rpardini> works perfectly AFAIK.
<DC-IRC> <IgorPec> i know it must works with rockchip64. here it was a matter of maintainership
<DC-IRC> <rpardini> I've the PCI timeout trouble with the rockpro64 sometimes, yes.
<DC-IRC> <IgorPec> yes, this cames up random, we tried several hacks, none is 100% succesfull so far
<DC-IRC> <jkent> link training is when it figures out the optimal timing for the lanes, right? (think eye diagram?)
<DC-IRC> <mlp> running onnx / tensorflow models for object detection and stuff
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> Ahh using the npu
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> yeah.. I don't use it on mine
<DC-IRC> <mlp> looks like there is closed source driver and api documentation so it looks usable
<DC-IRC> <mlp> at least with ubuntu 22.04
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> Yeah most of the Edge2 stuff still has to run through the vendor kernel so most of the drivers/api's should work
<DC-IRC> <mlp> one application could be smart camera with object detection that can alert/capture on people, animals, birds etc
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> nice
<DC-IRC> <lanefu> similar tutorial here as well https://wiki.indiedroid.us/Nova/npu
<DC-IRC> <gitboy> Greetings. I was hoping to get some help from someone. I have a Rockchip ARM based server (a defunct Helm Email server) which I have flashed with a Armbian image. After flashing I am able to ssh into the new armbian server, but its not recognizing the 1 TB ssd drive. Am I missing some steps?
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> What hardware is it?
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> model
<DC-IRC> <gitboy> I have the Helm v2a
<DC-IRC> <gitboy> FCC ID: 15C-2AYVZ256G
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> Need to start with that to know where to isolate
<DC-IRC> <gitboy> Contains a Rockchip rk3399 SoC.
<DC-IRC> <gitboy> Basically followed these instructions: https://github.com/HelmSecure/armbian-images
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> Those were built by someone else using a base Armbian... I doubt (although it might be possible) anyone here can help
<DC-IRC> <gitboy> I see
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> Let me check our board list though just in case
<DC-IRC> <gitboy> Thank you
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> I don't any reference to it in our builds
<DC-IRC> <gitboy> I understand
<DC-IRC> <gitboy> Thank you for checking
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> I would stick around though.. someone might have ideas
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> np.. .
<DC-IRC> <gitboy> will do
<DC-IRC> <gitboy> thanks again
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> RK3399 is a very popular board in general so some of our "generic" build for it help...
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> but since you must have a PCI-E card in it right?
<DC-IRC> <gitboy> 'df -H' shows
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> Your drives are connected to an addon card I assume?
<DC-IRC> <gitboy> but I have a 1TB nvme which is not showing
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> oh
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> It does list
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> Its just not formatted/mounted
<DC-IRC> <gitboy> correct
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> You just need to format/mount it
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> did it have data on it already?
<DC-IRC> <gitboy> what did I miss doing?
<DC-IRC> <gitboy> nothing useful.. can be erased
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> Ahh
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> @gitboy thats a question I will have to defer to someone else because there's numerous ways it "could" be answered... my advice would be to ask in #ID:857944478269702214 for the "recommended" wany to add a new drive to an existing system
<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> I setup systems in "very" unique ways
<DC-IRC> <gitboy> haha I understand.. thank you again for the help

<DC-IRC> <Tenkawa> np at all..
