<DC-IRC> <Alchemy1701 BKR No 1021> I'd rather wait to have it implemented officially, I'm not that sure of doing it myself so I'll wait... The Orangepi image's are full of bugs and mess ups so I'd rather wait and use something like Armbian, preferably XFCE4 or Cinnamon as I absolutely detest Gnome as it looks quite childish as a desktop environment... (My opinion)....
<DC-IRC> <amazingfate> Neither xfce and cinnamon supports Wayland, gnome is the best choice at the moment.
<DC-IRC> <Alchemy1701 BKR No 1021> Wayland isn't important for me.... I've used x11 for years and it works ok... I just want an XFCE4 or Cinnamon Armbian image that will be Emmc installable...
<DC-IRC> <Alchemy1701 BKR No 1021> Do you need Wayland for the new graphic drivers to work?
<DC-IRC> <Alchemy1701 BKR No 1021> I also use barrier to share mouse and keyboard, and barrier doesn't work with Wayland very well at all....
<DC-IRC> <Alchemy1701 BKR No 1021> If you have the dtb file to send me, I'd be very grateful for your help:-) I can't seem to find it in any of the other images....
<DC-IRC> <patrickdk> ill see if i do, if not ill build it
<DC-IRC> <Alchemy1701 BKR No 1021> Thank you so so so so much, sorry, it's been a long week and some difficult stuff happening with life.... You are an absolute legend sir.
<DC-IRC> <Alchemy1701 BKR No 1021> And is it just a simple matter of putting it in the right place, then rebooting? That would be so so nice right now
<DC-IRC> <patrickdk> it's a matter of putting it in the right place, and adjusting that text file to tell it to use it, instead of the other orangepi5
<DC-IRC> <patrickdk> unless you just overwrite the other one with this one
<DC-IRC> <patrickdk> but for future use, it would be nicer to change it
<DC-IRC> <patrickdk> just throw that file into /boot/dtb/rockchip and also into /boot/dtb-5.10.110-rockchip-rk3588/rockchip
<DC-IRC> <patrickdk> and edit /boot/armbianEnv.txt file to point to it, with the ftdfile= variable
<DC-IRC> <Alchemy1701 BKR No 1021> Done, done and amazingly done.... Works like a dam charm, you sir are brilliant, thank you so so so so so so much. I'm so dam glad there are people in the world like you that help others with patience.
<DC-IRC> <Robin> Any updates on this?
<DC-IRC> <amazingfate> What kind of update?
<DC-IRC> <Robin> Like, on how I can build it and make it bootable?
<DC-IRC> <amazingfate> Just build it.
<DC-IRC> <Robin> Well.. I did. But then it doesn't boot..
<DC-IRC> <rpardini> Hey Robin, did you manage to get the (complete) bootlogs? You've something different, I think, than most boards, and we'd need the full bootlogs so we can try to understand what's going on.
<DC-IRC> <amazingfate> There might be something wrong with your storage device if the image can't boot.
<DC-IRC> <Robin> it can boot from the zip on the website
<DC-IRC> <amazingfate> You have to find out why.
<DC-IRC> <Robin> Well, if the compile would work...
<DC-IRC> <ahoneybun> Is there any need for more pinebook-pro testers?
