<Armbian-Discord> <joekhoobyar> For AR-1301. it boots now - going to play around. No HDMI output atm. 😦
<Armbian-Discord> <joekhoobyar> Linux rockpi-4cplus 5.15.76-rockchip64 #trunk SMP PREEMPT Mon Oct 31 03:25:01 UTC 2022 aarch64 GNU/Linux
<Armbian-Discord> <joekhoobyar> 🧵 for RockPI 4 C Plus notes for tonight:
<Armbian-Discord> <joekhoobyar> @IgorPec , summary of Rock PI 4 C Plus: Work left to do: - get HDMI output working - get OTG USB3 port working (or disable OTG mode for now?) - (maybe later) wifi firmware Working now: - normal sdcard speeds - normal USB3 (non OTG port) SSD speeds - GBe, Wifi, speeds are great
<Armbian-Discord> <joekhoobyar> this is all committed to the AR-1301 PR
<Armbian-Discord> <joekhoobyar> got the OTG working, will push a commit for that
<Armbian-Discord> <joekhoobyar> working on HDMI now, but will need to sleep soon
<Armbian-Discord> <IgorPec> ok. btw. i will be out of office during this week, so my reply will be delayed

<Armbian-Discord> applying setting, reverse things back
<Armbian-Discord> <joekhoobyar> ha! got it.
<Armbian-Discord> <joekhoobyar> This is now usable for non-desktop workloads, @IgorPec ! Should I approve AR-1301 ?
<Armbian-Discord> <joekhoobyar> Or move on to desktop testing? i think that could be a follow up ticket?
<Armbian-Discord> <joekhoobyar> well, only the 2nd HDMI port works.
<Armbian-Discord> <joekhoobyar> still, this is finally usable. Rock PI 4 C Plus running Armbian.
<Armbian-Discord> <joekhoobyar> Gotta start trying the 4 SE next. Would love to see the NVME drives work on it
<Armbian-Discord> <Kanken> holy smokes that is a lot of sata drives running off of an SBC 👀
<Armbian-Discord> <TheBug> Actually it isn't, lol, I have 10x3TB attached to a RockPro64 🙂
<Armbian-Discord> <Kanken> is that for your own cloud storage? X')
<Armbian-Discord> <TheBug> thats w/ luks encryption
<Armbian-Discord> <Kanken> that is some impressive speed for PCIE 1x
<Armbian-Discord> <Kanken> i guess not having the differential lanes swapped by accident helps, heh orangepi 😂
<Armbian-Discord> <TheBug> best part is even in that config your talking about 100 Watt for drives + board
<Armbian-Discord> <TheBug> (under load)
<Armbian-Discord> <TheBug> yeah OrangePis implementation isn't great
<Armbian-Discord> <TheBug> but I am also usein RockPi 4c for this same use case with m.2 to pcie adapter
<Armbian-Discord> <TheBug> just radis of 6-7 drives instead of 10
<Armbian-Discord> <TheBug> thats also with 2.5Gbit USB 3.0 nic attached
<Armbian-Discord> <TheBug> BTW so I can actually pull ~120-160M/sec or so across network on transfers
<Armbian-Discord> <ManoftheSea> heh, I'm reminded of the ebin's sata port. The v5 offers a molex power connection instead of a SATA one, and I believe they both offer a... "direct connect" sata data port. In that you need a special data cable to connect the drive rather than the regular one.
<Armbian-Discord> <ManoftheSea> It's just impressive how much can go wrong
