<cr1901> https://twitter.com/HCStealth/status/1535079820689743872 Well, no big surprises here, but still an interesting tweet thread.
<NiGHTS> Stealth sur Twitter : "Cat's out of the bag... @KatieChrz shared on today's Sonic livestream that it was, in fact, necessary to replace some of Sonic 3 & Knuckles' music in Sonic Origins. I know this may be a disappointment to some, but we've all known for a long time that this would very likely happen"
<cr1901> Excited to hear the final versions of the prototype tracks as they were intended

<fseidel> I'm in the minority(?) who don't really like the MJ tracks all that much (ICZ1, miniboss, and credits excepted, those are all great)
<fseidel> even beyond that though, I prefer this in that we've had plenty of releases with the "real" soundtrack, but never with the originally intended one (minus the kind of wonky MIDI arrangements on the PC port)
<fseidel> Of course, both would have been even better... I'm still hoping we found out exactly what the legal situation is...
<andlabs> we did?
<andlabs> or are we still just guessing?
<andlabs> because last time I chekced we were mostly just guessing, and when we did find a similarity there was plagarism even there
<andlabs> (from a former partner of one of the guys credited)
<andlabs> my opinion: I'm not really feeling the stage songs honestly; arnival night and launch base seem too overdone and ice cap is vastly incomplete
<andlabs> though ice cap does have the marble garden leitmotif which is pretty neat I guess
