<piwakawaka98>
Is there a way to bypass/disable "picobuild" and switch to a full "python -m build" style in Langdale?

Hello, We would like to run our JAVA application in an ARM64 OpenWRT device. I would like to know what are the available options and if someone already try to do it ? As I know there is JamVM, but in the past I already try to use it and it's not building/working because the project is like abandoned and require some "library" that is not available anymore
<Tyaku_>
In the past we also try solutions like "GraalVM", It can be use to build a binary application from a .jar, but doesn't work for cross compilation..
<Tyaku_>
Did someone know another good option here ?
<Tyaku_>
Oh damn it! I am in the wrong channel >!<
<Tyaku_>
In Yocto we don't have issues as we have JVM..

i have a wks file, where i specify a grub.cfg via the line "bootloader --ptable gpt --configfile=grub.cfg", where can i put the grub.cfg so it is found without specifying absolute paths?
<ray-san2>
the documentation says "a file that exists in the canned-wks folder". i am not sure, what "canned-wks folder" means

alessioigor: is there some way around that? i want to build my image with the tool "kas", and as far as i undestand that, that directory gets auto generated
<alessioigor>
ray-san2: Sorry I don't use kas.

i don't think this is a kas issue, i think it is an issue with search paths for the grub.cfg

I was looking into a warning related to spdx :
<YKT>
WARNING: core-image-rt-1.0-r0 do_create_image_sbom_spdx: The following SPDX IDs were unable to be resolved: linux-intel/UNIHASH/package/kernel
<YKT>
I observed that when I change Preferred kernel in local.conf and bitbake a different image, I get this warning. So for example, after building core-image-minimal with preferred kernel set to "linux-intel", if I try to bitbake core-image-rt by chaging preferred kernel to "linux-intel-rt", I get this warning:
<YKT>
WARNING: core-image-rt-1.0-r0 do_create_image_sbom_spdx: The following SPDX IDs were unable to be resolved: linux-intel/UNIHASH/package/kernel
<YKT>
This warning goes away if I force rebuilding package spdx of packagegroup-core-boot.
<smurray>
khem: btw, that was the only thing I hit doing a full build of our AGL demo images on F40, so things look good

fullstop:python3 is automatically enabled by default in opencv packageconfig so I wonder why its needed
<fullstop>
khem: it could be nxp bsp shenanigans
<khem>
smurray:that sounds promising, but soon I will be losing build machines that run meta-openembedded CI so expect more breakages in future :)

<jdiez>
hi, I have a yocto build for an i.mx8mp board which is working correctly. I also want to build a qemu image that should use the same packages as much as possible. I added a qemu machine to conf/machine with the same DEFAULTTUNE and similar `requires` as the BSP provides for my board. However, when compiling for this "qemuarm64-cortexa53-crypto" machine, I see that thousands of sstate objects for the board architecture are deleted
<jdiez>
and things like glibc are rebuilt
<jdiez>
first: why does that happen? I expected to only build the kernel, maybe bootloader etc for qemu
<jdiez>
and second: will this deploy packages to tmp/deploy/packages/ipk/<architecture-tune> that are incompatible with the board build?

looking at buildhistory-diff only some -src packages changed, so that's a good sign that the packages themselves are still the same
<jdiez>
not sure why that's the case, though
