I have a problem with cmake in a recipe. CMake error is : Imported target "PkgCOnfig::PC_CURL" includes non-existent path. The path itself is the error i guess cause a separator is missing. `path: /home/byleth/dev/.../1.4.17-r0/recipe-sysroot/home/byleth/dev/.../1.4.17-r0/another/path`
<BylethTMP>
I guess that's two different paths but idk how to fix this...

Hi all, I'd like to experiment with systemtap and have it built but when I run crosstap I get an error about module signing being enabled. I checked my kernel config and this is not enabled, so I guess it is getting the setting from the hosts kernel. I'm using mickledore. Has anyone encountered this issue and have a solution?

If I use devtool to build my kernel (e.g. `devtool modify <kernel>`, `devtool build <kernel>`) then where does it place my kernel binary and device tree blob? I guess I'm use to it placing it in my `<builddir>/tmp/deploy/<machine>/images/`. However, that doesn't appear to be what's going on with devtool. Any ideas on how I can investigate where my
<bobdesl>
kernel binary and device tree blob are going after a build?
<radanter>
To answer my previous question, I can set the SYSTEMTAP_NOSIGN env variable and it will skip the requirement it detects from the host

hello, I defined a new bbclass that has some functions that the inheriter can extend. How do I make sure that when that inheritor changes the function, that the recipe correctly gets rebuilt?
<yudjinn>
i.e. I have a bbappend on `shadow` that inherits the class and extends the function defs. but when I change that, bitbake doesnt detect that there was a change

anyone familiar with bbclasses and how bitbake invalidates cache?
mulk has joined #yocto
<JPEW>
yudjinn: It should detect all that automatically. Are your sure you tasks are actually being asked to run?
<JPEW>
yudjinn: It does a bunch of hashing to figure it out; but it's unlikely that's broken
<yudjinn>
so I'm using these functions effectively as a different style of pkg_postinst_ontarget, so I dont want these to actually run, but rather are scripts I export
rcw has joined #yocto
<yudjinn>
so I guess my question is more how does pkg_postinst_ontarget work? how does it detect that changes happened there without actually running the contents
<rburton>
all string variables are hashed
<yudjinn>
rburton: not a string, its a func. basically `pre_persist_ontarget(){}` and changing that in `shadow.bbappend` doesnt trigger a rebuild, I have to manually invalidate or change the bbclass it inherits
<rburton>
functions are basically strings :)
<yudjinn>
then why does changing the functions not trigger a rebuild?
<rburton>
that _could_ be a bug in the hashing, or a known area where it doesn't catch.
<rburton>
in the latter you just need to mark it using vardeps
<rburton>
a worked example would be useful
prabhakarlad has joined #yocto
<yudjinn>
rburton: I'll try the vardeps, I thought I tried that but I'm now seeing a typo, maybe thats the issue

I have foreign layer with the recipe that defines several packages as allow-empty. And the package that I need is empty as the result - no actions defined for its installation. Could you give me an example of defining the package in outer .bb file or (seems better) .bbappend?
