So I've been doing something with a wrong approach. I need my OS image to be rv64imafd (no support for compressed instructions). However I have been looking into the qemu RISC machine core, which is rv64imafdch.
<Entei[m]>
How do I make sure of this? I mean other than trying to write some assembly code with compressed ISA and trying to see if it assembles or fails?
<Entei[m]>
The core doesn't matter for now, I just need to make sure my OS image with GCC doesn't produce any code with compressed instructions. Also the packages installed are not produced with compressed ISA.

PS : just for context, I have built the riscv64 qemu image already with no compressed tune. I just wish to test and make sure it doesn't support compressed ISA, even if the virtual CPU does.

RP: Looks like specifying epoch and version works and fixes SDK generation with packages pulling perl but I don't know how to test it properly (looks so easy to be truth :) ). Should I send RFC patch?
<landgraf>
hmmmm. package_deb doesn't like this approach :(
