Hello all, I would like to migrate a custom function from .bbappend to .inc (and include it from the bbappend). But i'm not able to call dtc binary from the .inc. Everything works from .bbappend. I have missed something ?

GuestNew: something adds dtc-native to your sysroot, I guess your .inc function is called in recipes which do not have this explicit dependency

why would recipes use ??= assignment for PACKAGECONFIG? those can't be amended with += in a bbappend, must use :append instead. += overwriting the full PACKAGECONFIG is not intuitive.

mcfrisk: yes, that's a terrible behavior, we really need to fix that. It's not expected for config metadta value for that variable to override the recipe. the recipe should just use =, and we can use :append or a pn-override if you need to adjust it
