Hello
<yann-kaelig>
I found something new about my issue. I can reproduce the fix without the need to boot linux on the sdcard. I'm now trying to find what is the right combination that fix the issue with the subboard

<marex>
that's good

<yann-kaelig>
well, this is weird. Sometimes is working sometimes it is not.
<marex>
yann-kaelig: make sure to power cycle everything between tests
<yann-kaelig>
One thing I have notice, I have to boot without the device connected to the SATA then run the scsi command to enable the Port PH12 and nest plug the device and sometime it work with a scsi scan
<marex>
yann-kaelig: else you might have a state retained somewhere
<marex>
yann-kaelig: you did write those are SSDs, right? So no spin-up issues ?
<yann-kaelig>
SSD yes
<yann-kaelig>
it seems that if the PH12 is not enable before the device is pluged something doesn't work as expected and timeout
<yann-kaelig>
like if plugin the device after ph12 send a signal and make the thing works
<yann-kaelig>
or maybe on the other side it's trying to contact the device before ph12 has time to be enable. But I have tested to increase the WAIT and that do not change anything
<marex>
yann-kaelig: hold on
<yann-kaelig>
Can I set the port somewhere in uboot config ?
<yann-kaelig>
yes, what
<yann-kaelig>
:)
<marex>
yann-kaelig: look at drivers/ata/ahci_sunxi.c
<marex>
yann-kaelig: 95 ret = device_get_supply_regulator(dev, "target-supply", ®_dev);
<marex>
yann-kaelig: do you hit that mdelay(500); ? Add printf() there
<marex>
yann-kaelig: maybe try and increase it too
<marex>
that's what toggles PH12 in your case
persmule has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds]
<yann-kaelig>
could it be also possible to clear pi16 pi17 and set pi18 somewhere ?
<yann-kaelig>
not sure if there are important in the mix
enok has joined #u-boot
<yann-kaelig>
but at linux kernel boot they have different settings than in uboot
<marex>
yann-kaelig: look for gpio_request() and gpio_direction_output()
<marex>
use git grep to find many examples
<yann-kaelig>
ok

<yann-kaelig>
and also I have notice that after a first scsi reset without the SSD, next the time between I plug the SSD and I run scsi scan must be before the SSD read access. I mean when I plug first the SSD, the LED turn on but only few second later the LED show some read access, and the scsi scan must be run just before this read access
joeskb7 has quit [Quit: Lost terminal]
<yann-kaelig>
after that I can run as many time I want scsi scna, it will work every time
<yann-kaelig>
scsi scan
<yann-kaelig>
I feel more and more that there is a timeing issue and it must be very accurate or it will failed
<yann-kaelig>
I can not say what the difference mean from the md output. Not an expert enough to understand this thing
<yann-kaelig>
I had some hope but it doesn't survive a reset at uboot prompt command. Well, enough for today cu later
