I really wish we supported multiple wildcard hosts or something so I could use internal DNS when inside my own network.
<ocdtrekkie>
My ISP is doing some stupid thing and because you know, Sandcats provides the DNS... I can't access my own server.
<isd>
Being able to handle more than one domain is a good idea. I think it's been brought up before.
<ocdtrekkie>
Yeah I have an issue for it somewhere
<ocdtrekkie>
I just feel it extra much when my Internet is down.
<ocdtrekkie>
It's a fun issue too: The connection to the ISP is rock solid, they just aren't issuing my modem an IP address.
<ocdtrekkie>
And of course, the support people have no idea when I tell them about a DHCP error in the modem's system log.
<ocdtrekkie>
So they've scheduled a technician to come out on Monday, for a DHCP issue.

sigh
<ocdtrekkie>
I found an email address for the ISP's NOC, I was thinking emailing it might be an adequate shibboleet to get someone to investigate what's actually happening here.
<isd>
I'm really amused that you misspelled shibboleth.

ocdtrekkie, have you considered running a home DNS server? Then you can override DNS for your sandcats domain to route locally.
<ocdtrekkie>
I actually do have one (a Windows domain controller, in fact), but I'm not sure I want to tamper with the sandcats domain like that, as I fear it'll be an excellent way to break my ability to reach other Sandcats servers.
<ocdtrekkie>
I'm not sure it'll let me override the two entries I'd want to override and still send the rest of the requests to an authoritative source.
