it's the future, though, isn't it. by now it should be enough to simply ask, "computer?" - "bee-bipp", and then demand, "create a database for these data arranging everything so it's suitable to be used for my thesis's analysis part" - "bipp-bipp ... processing ... database created."

it sounds that way with github's copilot but i havent tried it
<ox1eef>
understanding will probably still matter, it sounds a bit like copying and pasting random answers from stackoverflow otherwise, although AI intelligence in copilot is very impressive so the quality would probably be high.

nah, copilot is far from intelligence, it's all just statistics, just like any other A"I" out there so far.

Trying to gem install jekyll on cygwin, I get this error: "The internal error was: (NoMethodError) undefined method `[]' for nil:NilClass ERROR: While executing gem ... (NoMethodError) undefined method `[]' for nil:NilClass" How do I fix this? Do I need to install some other package that it depends on?
<jhass[m]>
Looks like it actually was successfully installed and just generating documentation failed somehow :)
<jhass[m]>
If you want to make extra sure you can run gem install --no-document jekyll

otisolsen70: bummer, that seems super old, too old for Ruby 2.6 perhaps... Going through WSL instead of Cygwin might be the more viable option :/

So, after torturing myself about which Queueing backend to use, I finally gave up and went for ActiveJob. Now I can iterate over different backends to see which fits the bill best.
<IsoLinCHiP>
I am rather surpised I havent found any 'framework' that also provides job history features.
<IsoLinCHiP>
I really like the concept that for example Gitlab has with its continuous integration. With each run, metadata and output being stored, all in a coherent web UI. Id love to have something like that for arbitrary scheduled jobs or ETL processes.
<IsoLinCHiP>
I wonder how feasable it would be to rip out that part fro gitlab and make it standalone
