hey! i want to reproduce a "tabs" behaviour that i'm used to have in i3. instead of always having windows split the screen, i would like to have multiple windows taking the full screen and using Mod+Tab to cycle through them. i always end up having multiple full-screen windows within the same workspace... is there any way i can achieve this with river?
<choucavalier>
prediction: leon-p is going to implement that in 30 minutes like he did last time with river-bnf

no need, it's already done. Check the wiki on github for community layouts. These replace rivertile and implement different layouts, including such layouts as you describe
<leon-p>
choucavalier: ^
<choucavalier>
leon-p: great, stacktile?
<LarstiQ>
"monocole" is a typical name for that layout
<LarstiQ>
without the typos

choucavalier: possibly, although I think I am now just going to recommend riverguile instead
<leon-p>
I have a layout.scm for my laptop that has live toggling of a "full" mode, if you like

leon-p: speaking of riverguile, that would be kinda nice if we could have a flag like -c layout.scm
<novakane>
I have a few file messing around testing different layout and renaming one to layout.scm every time I want to test another is a bit annoying :P

novakane: the canonical way to do that would be to just have them all in the same file and just change which functions get called in the handler, but I'll put it on the list
<leon-p>
I'll upload my laptops layout file as soon as I am home
<novakane>
leon-p: right, but I'm a bit messy when writing test layout, I like multiple file better :P
<novakane>
no big deal though, just an idea I had

Guest11: what is that?
<Guest11>
basically when you start a program on the terminal, it will hide all the output and launch the program on top of the terminal. For example when you mpv file in the terminal, the video plays on top of the terminal
<Guest11>
vs vice versa of mpv launching a new window
