<i9j8k7> hello, how can I achieve the following? <$mod-N> toggles focus of tag N, but also, if I press <$mod-g> immediately after it the focused view is tagged with tag N
<i9j8k7> (this comes from cwm)

<leon-p> i9j8k7: you could write a wrapper script around riverctl that writes the tags to a file when toggling focus and then reads them for setting view tags
<i9j8k7> leon-p: sorry, I'm at a loss. A wrapper script around riverctl?
<leon-p> yes, a script you call instead of riverctl, with the tag as argument
<leon-p> it then calls riverctl with the tag and then writes the tag to a file
<leon-p> then a second script can read the tags from that file
<leon-p> i9j8k7: ^
<i9j8k7> ok, I think I see, I would need to map the keys to execute a script
<leon-p> indeed
<i9j8k7> I guess that would work thanks, although I'm not too happy about executing a script and writing to a file everytime I toggle focus to a tab
<leon-p> I can see that, but such is life if you depend on niche features 🤷
<leon-p> you don't have to write to disk though, you can write to tempfs
<leon-p> and the additional overhead is not something you should loose sleep over either, it's basically nothing
<i9j8k7> yeah, it's probably fine, maybe I'll try some sleep pills in case that's needed
<leon-p> :)
